Bunch provides engineering and constructability support focused on making projects practical to fabricate, assemble, and build. Our specialized capabilities include 3D model pipe and structural design, pipe stress engineering, structural design and engineering, civil design and engineering, 3D scanning, and field-focused construction planning.

A key advantage of our approach is the feedback loop between design and the field. Operators, pipefitters, welders, electricians, instrument technicians, crane operators, ironworkers, insulators, quality control, safety, and field supervision all provide practical input that helps make the work easier to operate, fabricate, lift, install, inspect, insulate, and maintain.
Bunch focuses on measuring and managing the quantities that drive cost, considering trade-offs, then reducing those quantities through improved design. By tracking item quantities over hundreds of projects — such as FDI, structural steel weight, piles, cable tray, field cable, devices, tubing, heat trace, and insulation — we help improve design efficiency while reducing rework, uncertainty, and site time.
Piping Design
Bunch piping design connects 3D modelling with pipefitter knowledge. Layouts are developed with field constructability in mind, including routing, support locations, valve access, tie-in accuracy, module boundaries, cable tray access, and spool flange breaks.
Our piping design team works closely with structural, E&I, insulation, quality, procurement, and field personnel. This helps reduce clashes, improve shop readiness, and create designs that fit the way work is actually fabricated and installed.
Structural Design
Our structural designers coordinate closely with piping, electrical and instrumentation, equipment, and lifting. By identifying pipe supports, cable tray supports, and related structural details early, Bunch can install more of the required support steel during shop fabrication rather than leaving it for field construction.
Our structural design philosophy is that less is more. Reducing steel quantity lowers fabrication effort, coating, transportation weight, installation time, and overall project cost. Feedback from pipefitters, electricians, and multiple trades shapes the design process and helps reduce unnecessary steel, simplify connections, and reduce field work.
