Bunch Projects

More than four decades of industrial construction experience

Bunch has grown from a Central Alberta welding company into a multidisciplinary industrial contractor serving projects across Western Canada.

Our Journey Since 1981

Bunch Welding started as a proprietorship in 1981 and incorporated in 1983. Founded in Central Alberta, the company grew through hands-on field execution, strong pressure equipment experience, structural fabrication, and long-standing relationships with energy and industrial clients across Western Canada.

1981

Bunch Welding begins as a proprietorship by Don and Arlene Bunch in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta.

1983

Bunch Welding Ltd. incorporates.

1985

First pressure weld procedure and first AQP registered with the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Branch of Alberta Labour (ABSA predecessor).

1995

First certification to CSA W47.1 for structural steel fabrication.

1997

First safety Certificate of Recognition (COR) from the Alberta Construction Safety Association.

2013/14

Sons Chad and Jason Bunch assume leadership of the company.

2018

3D scanning and piping design implemented company-wide.

2019

Electrical and Instrumentation division established.

2019

01

The Foundation

From the beginning, Bunch built its reputation on practical execution, qualified tradespeople, and a commitment to doing the job right. That foundation was reinforced early through formal quality and safety systems. Bunch registered its first pressure weld procedure with the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Branch of Alberta Labour in 1985 and received its first AQP that same year. In 1995, Bunch was first certified to CSA W47.1 for structural steel, and in 1997 the company received its first safety Certificate of Recognition.

02

Growth & Evolution

Bunch continued to evolve from a strong mechanical and fabrication base into a multidisciplinary industrial contractor. The company added broader structural steel capability, expanded shop capacity, developed electrical and instrumentation and insulation divisions, and strengthened internal project controls. In 2020, Bunch received its Permit to Practice engineering in Alberta, supporting suitable engineering scopes and closer collaboration between design, fabrication, and field construction.

03

Modern Execution

Today, Bunch combines established field knowledge with modern execution tools including 3D scanning, 3D model-based design, shop automation, robotic welding, digital safety reporting, and real-time project controls. The result is a company with deep roots, proven systems, and the ability to keep improving how industrial projects are planned, fabricated, tracked, and built.
