Full-Cycle Construction Process
Bunch Projects will assist our clients in all steps of pipeline construction and installation:
Planning & Preparation
- Develop budgets
- Completing site visits and assist with pipeline routing
- Developing equipment and manpower loading schedules
- Sourcing materials and subcontractors (Bunch prequalifies all material vendors and subcontractors to ensure they meet our standards)
- Participate in all client meetings including scoping, landowner consultation, pre-jobs, progress and post-mortem
Construction & Installation
- Logging and clearing of the right-of-way
- Burning of non-salvageable timber
- Stripping surface soils including topsoil and subsoil
- Stringing, bending and welding pipe up to 8″
- Horizontal and Directional Boring Support
- Coating the pipeline
- Installing RockGuard (as required)
- Lowering and tying in the pipeline
- Backfilling the trench
- Testing (Hydrostatic or Gas)
- Commissioning the pipeline
- Final right of way clean-up, surface soil replacement and placing rollback as required

Bunch has experience completing integrity digs for any size and type of pipe and currently assists some of the largest pipeline companies in North America.

Pipeline Reclamation
Bunch offers comprehensive pipeline reclamation services to restore right-of-way to pre-construction condition:
- Assessing pipeline right-of-way condition
- Assist Environmental Consultants with developing a reclamation strategy and budget
- Complete reclamation activities
Pipeline Capabilities
Carbon Steel
Full pipeline construction and installation of carbon steel pipe. Bunch holds certified weld procedures for CSA Z662 pipeline work across Western Canada.
Fiberglass & Composite
Installation of fiberglass, FlexSteel and FlexPipe composite pipelines for a broad range of oilfield and gas gathering applications.
HDPE Pipe
High Density Polyethylene pipe construction and installation up to 22″ diameter for water, tailings and utility applications.
Directional Boring
Horizontal and directional boring support for road, river, and obstacle crossings. Bunch maintains a list of approved drilling vendors throughout Alberta.
